Devlog: Polish and UI
This Week i Focused on making A pause Menu of UI and making a Timer that worked with this Timer.
I made the Timer so it appears above the Player and stays there the whole time. The player has 15 Minutes at the start with it counting down as time goes on. with that much time, you can win easily. so I made it so that when the player enters the camera's sights it takes 30 seconds from your total time. I made a pause menu so that when pressing Esc you enter the Pause menu and the Time stops. the Pause menu changes the screen with a dull white so you can still see the game but you can tell the game is paused.
I chose to make the Pause Text blue so it sticks out if its over the red carpet, white tiles, or the red/brown bricks. i added 3 UI buttons for the Player can pick. Resume so the player can continue the Game, you can also press Esc to go back to the game. Restart which restarts the whole game and time from the start if you think you made a mistake or running low on time. and an Exit Button which leads you back to the Start Menu.
I have also added another screen like the Pause screen but for when the Player Loses the game when the Timer reaches 0.
as you can see it is similar to the Pause menu but it just displays a "you lose" text to tell the player they lost the game and they can only restart or exit the game by the 2 UI buttons on the right.
lastly, I have added a Win menu for when the Player successfully grabs the diamond and then leaves the building with time still left on the Timer.
here it's the same as the Lose Menu with the UI buttons, however, it Displays a Score. The score is not random and is given to you from how much time a player has left. basically 1 second = 1 point.
