Game Concept
Gem Stealer
The Concept Statement:
The Basic idea of Gem Stealer is that you (the Player) are trying to steal a valuable gem from a museum. However, stopping you from just walking in and taking it are security guards, cameras, sensers and mini puzzles stopping you. Your job is to get past these obstacles and take the Gem for yourself.
Genre or category of game:
This game will focus on stealth to hide from the guards and solving puzzles to get to a new area or deactivate something in your way.
Concept creation process:
My creation process for this game is that I wanted to create something I just didn’t copy off another game. I wanted something fun but challenging to the player to keep them interested. I thought about maybe like a game like jump king or getting over it where it requires a lot of skill but I didn’t want my players to rage quit out of my game. So I thought, what about a robbery game? So I decided to do a game were you try to steal a gem and not get caught.
Audience and competitive analysis:
My audience for my game is going to be more based around speed runners since there will be a timer for how long it takes to complete the game. However, anyone can play this game if they feel like they want a little challenge when the game isn’t to hard but it keeps you on your toes.
Game treatment and concept art:
My Game Treatment will be base of the Player, items the player will use, hiding places the player can use, Security, Cameras, sensers and the puzzles. What these will need are.
Player:
- The Player will have basic up, down and left, right movements with a flashlight that can be turned off or on.
- The player can see up to 3 meters in front of him without the flashlight on. With it on he can see in a line where your mouse is about 6-8 meters ahead and able to move this light all around your character.
- You will be able to access your inventory which will have a device that you can only plug in computers where you can turn sensors off.
Items:
- First item is the flashlight that can be turned off and on with left click.
- Doesn’t have a cooldown.
- Allows the player to see 6-8 meters ahead where their mouse is.
- Second item is the hacking tool.
- This tool will allow you to hack into computers. However, any time you do this a puzzle will pop up and you must complete it to gain access. If not, you get kicked out and then can try again but if you fail 3 times the alarm will go off and security will start to come to your location.
Security:
- Security will be places all around the map wondering in a random pattern with a red light. if the player enters this security will start to run after the player. This affect will stop after the player left the red light for 5 seconds. Or if player is hidden.
- The security is slightly slower than player so the player can get away most of the time however they wont be that much slower
Hiding places:
- Hiding places will be places all around the map that will allow the player to hide from security to get away or just to wait for them to pass by.
- The Cameras will be places in areas where the player has to get passed. They will also have a red light like security however if player enters it security will come to investigate
- To turn these off (they will turn green) you need to use your tool to hack into them at the computers.
Cameras:
- The Cameras will be places in areas where the player has to get passed. They will also have a red light like security however if player enters it security will come to investigate
- To turn these off (they will turn green) you need to use your tool to hack into them at the computers.
Sensors:
- These will be like red lines that if the player passes it will trigger the alarm and will attract the security.
- These can be turned off like the Cameras.
Camera- (made by me and wont be final design )
hacking tool also going to be known as master hacker (MH) *note might make it MHD as in Master Hacker Device* (this is what the shape might be but not final look

Overall a neat idea with lots of mechanics for you to experiment with to find the fun.
Some aspects of the report document itself could have been better (see rubric rows for more info) which means the mark is not necessarily reflective of the quality of the idea.
